TCP supporting NEET young people

In Wirral more than 10% of young people leaving education at 16, move into the ‘Not in Education, Employment or Training’ (NEET) group. In some parts of Birkenhead, the NEETs group total over 17 per cent of the population.

TCP by providing programmes to suit the needs of these young people will give them the essential skills to access and sustain employment and training. These are confidence, ability to work as part of a team, leadership, problem solving skills, use of initiative, communication and listening skills, ability to form good relationships, coping with authority and the ability to manage their emotions.

TCP works with further education and training providers to deliver personal development aspects of mainstream programmes and on the 7th July 2008 we will launch our own Entry to Employment programme targeted towards the Year 11 school leavers to engage and develop their skills so that they can sustain a move into a vocational training course.
