TCP supporting NEET young people

In Wirral more than 10% of young people leaving education at 16, move into the ‘Not in Education, Employment or Training’ (NEET) group. In some parts of Birkenhead, the NEETs group total over 17 per cent of the population.

TCP by providing programmes to suit the needs of these young people will give them the essential skills to access and sustain employment and training. These are confidence, ability to work as part of a team, leadership, problem solving skills, use of initiative, communication and listening skills, ability to form good relationships, coping with authority and the ability to manage their emotions.

TCP with the added knowledge gained from its research into ‘Becoming a Five Star Parent’ is the recognised centre in Wirral for delivering programmes to Young Mums-to-be and Young Mums. They are working in schools and youth settings to deliver the STAR programme which helps young people consider the practical, emotional and financial pressures on young parents.

TCP is also delivering preparation for training programmes to help 16-19 year olds be successful in their choice of training and employment.  Please click Course Information for details.
