Young Mums to Be

Preparation for birth, childcare, positive parenting skills and career planning

Length of programme, 12 weeks,

16 hours a week;

16-19 years.

Open to all young mums-to-be in the 12th week of pregnancy onwards.

Personal, social and emotional development.

Arts and Crafts.

Employability Skills.

Career planning.

Individual support, advice and guidance.

Young people gaining Foundation Learning qualification at Entry Level or Level 1.

Young Mums

Positive parenting skills, developing relationships with children and career planning

Length of programme as required,

6 hours a week, this is variable depending on the requirements of the young mums.

16-25 years.

Open to young mums.

Building relationships with your child.

Parenting skills.

Employability skills.

Career planning.

Individual support, advice and guidance.

Young people can train and work as Peer Mentors on the Teenage Pregnancy Peer Education Programme going into schools and youth centres to discuss with others the practical, emotional and financial pressures of being a young parent.
